Just listened to local band Hotsui

On this new music high, I thought I'd check out this band Hotsui that it seems like everyone is talking about. I checked out their myspace page where you can listen to some tracks for free. I really like Slow Creeper. The drums are perfect. I think we might be playing a show with them in the near future. Check them out if you haven't already.

Have you heard of "The Cribs?"

I'm listening to, "sheela's LimeWire Tunes" at work. I think we're on the same network or something. Anyway, I was looking through her songs to find something new to listen to or check out stuff I'd heard about before but never really listened to. She has, panic at the disco, fall out boy, franz ferdinand, hawthorne heights, etc... but then I clicked on the cribs. Damn, this music is great. I started with "You are always the one" and ive been listening to the rest of the songs all day. I know I've heard this song before but I don't know where. This is the first time in a long time that I've listened to something online and I actually want to go out and buy the CD. Thanks sheela! Here's a link to their website to download a few free songs.

Fun show at Red Lion Last night

It was cool to hang out after our set and watch the rest of the show. It was raining a little but it turned out to be a really fun night. I have "Every Party" by Erland Oye on repeat right now. Summer's finally here.

Last Night at the Wave was cool.

If you don't know yet, the Wave Waikiki is closing down in 3 days, after over 25 years in business in a building that was built in the 1940's. It's going to be demolished and in a few years there's going to be a condominium in its place. That aside, we tried to make the night fun by playing a strong set. We even played "I left home" for the first time in public. Before we could start the song, someone bought us a round of shots. I guess the shot did its work because we started the song way too fast and we didn't stop. If you didn't get a chance to see us last night, we'll be playing this weekend at the Red Lion near University Avenue. It's on 2535 Coyne St (808) 949-5466, where Bedroq's used to be, behind Burger King, across the street from Varsity Theater.

Practicing Tonight

we're practicing tonight at Vibe Asylum. Tonight we're going to work on the new songs. I really want to get these songs ready for the next few shows we're playing at. Hmm what else... we're going to be in an article appearing in June's (or July's) Honolulu Magazine. They're running a special issue on local musicians.

Looks like we are NOT playing a show on May 12th at Pink Cadillac

Sorry to post the wrong info but we will not be playing on May 12th at Pink Cadillac. We will be playing at the Wave on May 17th. I heard we're playing with The Miltons and The Malcognitas... but I don't know for sure. I think we have to confirm it with them and the wave first. We'll post more when we confirm everything.

Two new shows in May

Just confirmed two shows in May. The first show is on May 12th at Pink Cadillac. The second show is on May 17th at The Wave. I just found out that it's going to be the last week of the Wave. They're closing down or changing owners... We'll put these two new shows on the shows page when we find out who the other bands are on those nights.

I'm not sure how final this is but I think we're going to be playing at Pink Cadillac on May 12th with two bands. It is supposed to be a free show. In the meantime, we are practicing and writing at a new pace.... I'll post more about the show when we find out more about it.
