Practice Tonight: Practicing 2 new songs

Tonight we're practicing again. We only practice for 2 hours every week. I wish we could do more but it's just too expensive. I want to buy a drum machine, not drum software for the computer; I want something that can run on batteries that I can fit into my backpack so I can carry it around with me. Honestly, I haven't done any research on the hardware out there, but I'm all ears if anyone has any experience with drum machines.

I'm pretty sure it was in an interview with like glass... Block party, that's right. In an interview in what I think was an article in Fader magazine, they profiled the singer and asked him how they wrote their songs. He had said, they always start with the beat. I think that's where we're headed. Plus I feel bad making stan play the same beat for 30 minutes straight. Sorry Stan. What would you all think if we started using electronic beats and samples? I'm thinking about it. Remember our first show in the garage of someone's house?

Anyway, I'll end my rant with photos of the drum machines I'm thinking about purchasing. If you know about drum machines, email me and maybe I won't end up getting something that sucks. Thanks!

Good practice last night, one more music player...

Last night I demoed a few new songs to the rest of the band and while we didn't get that far in cleaning them up or structuring them, it was fun to play some new material. We're still working on "I left home" to get it into shape to play live. That's all LINUS-wise...

I know I just posted that other music player but have you heard of Pandora? Type in an artist or a song that you like and not only does it recommend other artists that you'd like, it actually lets you listen to songs that it suggests like a streaming music player. Check it out to find more music that you like. Just thought that I'd pass that along. I've been using it for a while and I really like it. Ok, have a good weekend.

It's been a long time...

Or at least it feels like it. Here's what we've been up to in the past few weeks. We've been having a hard time scheduling practice at Vibe Asylum. Stan's been kind of sick for a while so we haven't been able to get together. Right now we're all working our summer jobs to make enough money to pay for our plane tickets to go on tour at the end of summer... I've been working on the new LINUS website for quite a while. Tomorrow nik and I are going to get together to step up production and get the site out fast. If you didn't see us in this month's issue of Honolulu Magazine, you can find it at Barnes and Noble. Did anyone go to the Metal Fest this weekend at Ana Bananas? How was it? Because we're all stuck in the office this summer, here's an online mixtape that I've been listening to all summer: JUMP TO MIXTAPE "I'm a homeboy and I like to make noise. Rapping to the beat is my main choice." Hope you like it. - David
